Mazkur maqolada yo‘nalma harakat fe’llarining o‘zbek va ingliz tillaridagi leksikografik talqini qiyosiy jihatdan tahlil qilinadi. Tadqiqotda izohli va tarjima lug‘atlarida harakat yo‘nalishini bildiruvchi fe’llarning berilish tamoyillari, definitsion tuzilishi hamda semantik komponentlari o‘rganildi. Qiyosiy-tavsifiy va semantik tahlil metodlari asosida har ikki tilda yo‘nalish semantikasining ifodalanish usullari aniqlanadi. Tadqiqot natijalari o‘zbek tilida yo‘nalish ma’nosi asosan morfologik vositalar orqali, ingliz tilida esa analitik konstruksiyalar yordamida ifodalanishini ko‘rsatdi. Maqola leksikografiya va tarjima nazariyasi rivojiga ilmiy hissa qo‘shadi.
