Abstract

This article examines the current urban planning conditions and territorial development challenges in Kitob city, Uzbekistan. Key issues include ecological stress, inefficient land use, poor infrastructure, and limited transport systems. The study uses demographic data, spatial analysis, and field observations to identify the root causes of these problems. Recommendations focus on compact urban growth, infrastructure renewal, and sustainable planning strategies tailored to small cities. Kitob serves as a representative case for improving urban governance in secondary cities across Central Asia
