Abstract

This article examines the issues of developing students’ independent learning activities in teaching foreign languages under distance learning conditions. It analyzes the concept of independent learning, its significance, the possibilities of distance education, ways of using modern information and communication technologies, as well as the pedagogical conditions for the effective organization of independent learning in foreign language acquisition. In addition, methodological recommendations for enhancing independent learning in distance education are proposed.
